Will MMFF 2010 movies make a blast?

Last year, Shake Rattle & Roll by Regal Films did not make much of the expected awards and praises. Will this year be a good omen for the yearly traditional show of horror movies in episodes? Not so sure about that. Filipinos might have gone weary of the obvoius low quality films being shown in the yearly celebration of the Metro Manila Film Festival.


This year, MMFF 2010 movie entries as listed in a press release seem to offer not much of the promise that Filipinos will get the quality films they've always been looking forward to watch on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Well, even if that is seemingly obvious as a case, again this year, I do personally hope that this helps uplift the quality of films that Pinoys will be offered. Take note, this is a festival, yearly celebrated so it means that there should be changes from the movie offers.

But I guess if we see the same names, the same artists, much more, the same titles, it seemed pretty obvious that MMFF 2010 movies won't offer much of what theater viewers are expecting from local producers. I hope this tradition changes. I also do hope to see something different this time but based from the release, I can't expect anything anymore. I'm sick and tired of the traditional movies being offered to us, viewers. We want quality and we want something different and most definitely, we want to see changes. We are no longer the used-to-be theater viewers that we are. We have learned to become more critical and more observant.
